Lately I've been reflecting on what it means to be a mentor and disciple. Curious how disciple is so closely related to discipline. I've learned that my gift in mentoring is to comfort people. God has given me the ability to be a good listener and to be able to relate or at least sympathize with others, pointing them to the cross and to His open arms. He is an amazing God! I'm currently studying what role prayer plays in mentoring as well as in the daily life of a Christian. These are some passages God has laid on my heart today.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
